Cravia ‘Kicks-Off’ 2014 with a Get Together Team Event
The Cravia family came together once again to celebrate another year of success at the company’s annual Kick-Off event. Around 120 representatives from Cravia senior management, its business partners and sponsors attended the exciting day filled with activities, which took place on December 12th at the luxurious Ritz Carlton JBR.
“The Four Disciplines of Execution” was this year’s theme and a large part of the event was spent discussing the vital role that effective management has played in securing our impressive business success.
Louay Ghandour, Cravia Chief Operating Officer – who was the main host for the day, revealed how Cravia managers have produced significant breakthrough results since the company started operations in the region in 2001, often by adopting strategies that have required the need to be flexible. Louay spoke about the importance of emphasizing how efficient teamwork creates great success, a factor that has contributed to the organization’s fantastic growth and renowned reputation over the past 12 years.
Cravia CEO, Walid Hajj’s insightful presentation highlighted the accomplishments and milestones of Cravia Group in 2013. He stated that the number of Cravia outlets across the region had increased to reach 61 stores in the UAE, with team members reaching 1,050. The achievement of expanding into new markets was also given much importance, with Walid singling out Zaatar w Zeit’s store in Riyadh – the largest in the Middle East – as a particular success story. One other particularly exciting development he shared was the opening of Cravia’s first in-house concept, The Steak Bar, in DIFC.
Walid concluded by discussing Cravia’s growth and expansion strategy for 2014, which includes the opening of a new smart delivery Zaatar w Zeit in Bay Avenue in March. He also revealed that the company is working on another restaurant to be ready before the end of 2014.
Other highlights of the year were discussed by Cravia Director of Operations UAE & KSA, Mahmoud Harb, with specific focus given to the renovation of Zaatar w Zeit located on Sheikh Zyed Road. The revamping of the premises was completed in only 48 days – a record time for the organization and an incredible achievement, considering that the outlet was entirely demolished and rebuilt. Sales figures following the reopening were 21 per cent higher than pre-renovation, with delivery times also becoming significantly faster.
The fast turnover time for the re-opening of the Sheikh Zayed Road outlet wasn’t the only record Mahmoud revealed that afternoon. He had a surprise up his sleeve when he served up to the assembled guests what is to date the company’s biggest ever chicken wrap, which had been specially prepared for the event. The delicious meter-long offering was cut into more manageable pieces to be enjoyed by everyone present.
Cravia Senior Brand Manager, Marwan Kandeel, revealed Cinnabon’s five per cent increase in sales and the opening of its new stores in Matajer Mall in Sharjah, Mushrif Mall and Bawabet Al Sharq in Abu Dhabi, as well as the relaunch of outlets in Souk Madinat Jumeirah and Ibn Battuta Mall with a fresh new look. The early success of two standalone Seattle’s Best Coffee outlets in Grosvenor Business Tower and Dubai International Airport was also reported. Cinnabon added an element of surprise at the event by unveiling a treasure box containing its new products for the year ahead.
The annual Kick-Off event was the perfect opportunity to show how teamwork really can generate fantastic results. It allows the company to focus on its achievements and gives everyone the chance to have a bit of fun together!
A special ‘Thank you’ to all who took part and hope for continuing to work together to make sure Cravia celebrates even more great news at the close of 2014!
