Cravia Celebrates another Year of Achievement at the Founder’s Awards
Cravia has hosted another successful Founder’s Awards, its annual event to celebrate the outstanding efforts by the team over the past 12 months. Around 400 employees from Cravia’s head office and its renowned brands – Cinnabon, Seattle’s Best Coffee, Zaatar w Zeit and The Steak Bar- attended the July 13 ceremony, which was held in the luxury surroundings of Atlantis, The Palm. The occasion paid tribute to the passion, dedication and unwavering commitment from team members that continue to drive the company forward.
Among the activities taking place was special recognition for those Cravia team members who have excelled in their duties, going above and beyond the already high standards that the group has become renowned for. Marwan Kandeel, Multi-brand Manager Cravia and Mahmoud Harb, Director of Operations Cravia, both handed out awards to their teams from Cinnabon and Zaatar w Zeit in acknowledgement of their efforts. A number of corporate announcements were made during the event, the most significant being that Louay Ghandour, formerly COO was named CEO of Cravia by Walid Hajj, the former CEO who now moves to the position of Executive Chairman of Cravia.
Louay made a presentation to the Cravia team that outlined the company’s results and developments over 2014, which included an impressive 9.4% increase in sales attributed to the relentless work of the team to grow the Cravia brands, the addition of new venues and the revamping of existing ones. He highlighted the company’s plans for the future, which includes Zaatar w Zeit opening two new branches in Dubai, one in Festival City and the other in Media City. He spoke about the popular Middle Eastern cuisine brand’s continued inroads into KSA, with new outlets having opened in Acacia, Cordoba and Tahlia and a further three to open soon in Boulevard, Faisaliah and King Abdullah Street, Riyadh. He revealed that two new outlets for Cinnabon and Seattle’s Best Coffee were opened in Yas Mall and Festival City, with recently renovated stores in Deira City Centre, Dubai Mall and Al Ghurair Mall providing an even higher standard of service for customers. He also mentioned the group’s acquisition of Five Guys for operations in Bahrain and KSA.
The close of the day saw a further look at ‘The Secret,’ Cravia’s formula for business leadership success. Included in this aspect of his address was a look at how leaders achieve greatness through the acronym ‘SERVE’ which stands for ‘See the future.’ ‘Engage and develop others,’ ‘Reinvent continuously,’ ‘Value results and relationships’ and ‘Embody the Values.’ The inspiring talk was the perfect end to yet another great Cravia event.
